St. Francis School

This addition to an existing pre-engineered metal building included site concrete, masonry exterior and a custom-built steel canopy. The interior finishes included a panelled lobby, new coach’s office, sound-proofed music classroom, storage rooms, locker rooms, and a new concession area.

It was important to the school that they maximize their construction budget and build a space that was energy-efficient. Structura suggested foam-encapsulated metal-stud framing for the addition, which is more economical as well as more insulating, resulting in lower heating and cooling costs in the space. We also suggested a concrete flooring finish that involved diamond-grinding concrete that had been embedded with glass, with stunning results for very little investment.
