Perry Brooks Building

This stunning remodel of the historic Perry Brooks building was accomplished in only 8 months. Structura completely transformed the building by re-skinning it with Kynar-finished metal shingles, as well as by demolishing the north exterior wall of the 11th & 12th floors and installing curtain wall there and all along the west bay of the north face of the building. We cut in windows on the west face of the building for every floor, and gutted and abated floors 1, 2, 6, 7, 10, 11 & 12.

The lobby was also renovated, with new floors and walls of Spanish granite in honed, polished and water-jet finishes. Structura accomplished a structural demolition of a large window in the lobby, and replaced it with low-E coated glass. We also installed a terrazo staircase from the lobby to the basement of the building.

As the Perry Brooks building was built in 1950, life safety renovations were necessary, including full sprinkler and fire alarm systems throughout the structure. Energy efficiency upgrades included all new mechanical units and building controls, a new roof of white TPO with tapered insulation, and insulation in all exterior walls.
