Mellow Johnny's

The “coolest bike shop in the world,” according to owner Lance Armstrong, this tenant finish-out of an historical building in downtown Austin was completed on time in 12 weeks.

Featuring a skylight, curved display wall, exposed wooden rafters, antique glass windows and original brick walls, this 18,000 SF space includes showers & dressing rooms for bike commuters, a full-service espresso bar & coffee shop, a restored basement for bike storage, and a fully-functioning antique dumbwaiter.

Structura reinforced the historic structure, extended structural columns through the roof to allow for a restaurant/club expansion in the future and added automatic storefront doors. We also built a shaft and dug an elevator pit to allow for future projects in the building.
