SHW
This remodel in a Class A building had a very aggressive 8-week schedule, especially considering that the project was still in design during the demolition and framing phase. As the client was aiming for a LEED Silver Certification, Structura was very involved in the design phase of the project, helping the design team assess lead times and LEED qualifications on multiple fixtures and finishes.
The stunning design of the office featured distinctive slanted walls, angled architectural glass, and rigid aluminum wall base. Design features that affected the LEED status of this project included strand-woven timber flooring material that was applied to vertical walls, low VOC adhesives and paints, locally harvested wood finishes, and diamond-polished concrete floors.
Working to meet SHW Group’s needs, we cut 2 days off the schedule to accommodate furniture delivery. Night and weekend work was needed to do the underfloor plumbing, which was located in adjoining retail and restaurant space, open for business 7 days a week.
