Lomography

This project is in the historical district of downtown Austin. The project faced challenges of a very short time constraint with product shipping from overseas. The parent company is located in Vienna with in-house architects. Along with the challenge of converting dimensions from metric to feet in inches, the distance and time zones made live communications difficult. The floor was a combination of historic terrazzo and concrete with old adhesives. The client chose to sand and clean the existing floor and coat with an epoxy sealer. This was done on the front end of the job and protected throughout the project. Being a historical building the historical society was involved with changing the street entrance. Attachment to the existing stone walls was prohibited. All walls were attached to the wood ceiling joist above. We were also successful in creating the frameless door look as requested by the client. A unique feature of the space is a mural comprised of photos taken in and around Austin.
